Internal Conversations

Ernie Fitzpatrick asked:
The mind just blathers on about nothing, about everything, and most often about combative or potentially dangeous things. The ego must always be prepared you know. What’s so self destructive is our lack of awareness of how powerful the subconscious mind is, and the incredible damage that the seemingly unimporant thoughts that we have can do to our lives.
Our inner speech, the internal conversations of “what if” that we have, and the inaudible tongue are incredibly powerful. James, chapter 3, speaks of how great a fire the tongue can cause; however, the concept is not limited to verbal speech.
Our inner thoughts and internal conversations reveals the state of consciousness from which we view the world.
To make a confession that all is well with your life and then have fleeting, emotionally charged, thoughts about how you might lose your job, your children aren’t doing well in school, and you don’t think you’ll have enough money to make next months car payment, more than cancel out a few “good confessions”. And we wonder why our prayers aren’t being answered?
You are your consciousness!
The Kingdom of God is within you!
Heaven is in you!
Your world is your inner thoughts objectified.
So, what’s going on INSIDE of you anyway? What’s dominating your thought processes? How much time are you giving to living the GOOD NEWS and not the constant barrage of BAD NEWS that’s ever before us? Romans 14:5 gives us the warning. Let every man be FULLY PERSUADED in his own mind. There’s no room for double mindedness (James 1:8).
Nor, is there any room for double heartedness (Ps. 12:2)
So, whatcha been thinking today that you need to quit?
